NV DE NIEUWE WANHOOP
In 2005 I have been involved in the multidisciplinary company NV de Nieuwe Wanhoop. We made two performances. The first one is called 'de 4 Zeegetijden' (2005) and it is a full evening music theater. The second one is called 'de dingen van Dante' (2008) and lasts about 20 minutes. Video images of me can be seen in these pieces. I also made a demo clip and a video clip. For the music theater 'De 4 Zeegetijden' I made special new video recordings and these are projected in the background. It is a visual line that runs through the performance, alongside the words of the poems by Martin Aart de Jong and the songs of Ben Hoogenboom and singer Pauline Capel. Live musicians accompany the whole. DJ Jan de Rijk weaves a mix of sounds and music through the piece. Look at Youtube for a demo.
For 'de dingen van dante' (picture) the poet Martin Aart de Jong was inspired by Dante Alighieri's poem: 'la divina commedia'. The performance is a mixture of recited poems by Martin Aart de Jong, a performance by artist Julia van Adrichem, a mix of sounds by DJ Jan de Rijk and a mix of video images of miine. I made these especially for this piece and the videos can be seen on four monitors. A demo of this piece can be seen on YouTube.
